Old Server down again
The old Navisite (Alabanza) server is refusing http connections. I have posted a fault report but I don't know when it will get fixed. This affects all those domains not yet transferred (including that of the Cactus-Mall and the BCSS) and will may affect mail from those domains although I can still get ftp access.
A checklist of Brachystelma, Ceropegia and the genera of the Stapeliads
This new publication is now available for order via the IAS website. The order form is also included with Asklepios 99 which is now in the post. Unfortunately the printed order form refers to a web link on the old Cactus-Mall server which is no longer functional so please go through the title link to order this fine publication.
Lost Mesemb Study Group Subscriptions
Whilst working on the domain transfer today (10th December) I lost at least one, possibly two Mesemb Study Group subscriptions which accidently were transferred to a spam bin. If you sent one today please send it again. The payments are manually processed through a card terminal so will not go through twice.
New Server progress
Progress continues, we now have about 40 domains operating from the new server, and work is in hand for about another 10. A server security certificate is now in place and some society subscriptions and other sales now operate through the new server. I have fixed a few problems with the society subcription page and believe all are now working correctly.
I expect progress to accelerate from here on as most of the potential roadblocks have been identified and resolved. There is however still a very large amount of work to do.
This Blog will note updates to the Cactus-Mall and other related websites like the British Cactus and Succulent Society and the Mesemb Study Group.
I will give my thoughts on the current state of the Cactus and Succulent hobby and discuss topical subjects which I think need airing.
I hope it can be used by others to give us feedback on the development of the now 10 years old Cactus-Mall and what you think of its usefulness and ways in which we might improve this.
